Disabling implants is PERMANENT, AND CANNOT BE REVERSED FOR ANY REASON unless you do a specific quest much later in the game. Basically, Adam's system can only support so many implants, and if you want to use the new line of experimental ones, your doctor recommends that you disable some standard ones to keep your overclock from going out of control. Early in the game, after experiencing the traditional Samus Aran gear failure (MD starts out with Adam fully upgraded, because of the events of HR), the game introduces overclock. While we're on choice and consequence, the game trusts the player to not be an idiot. Using smart vision, or just knowing the lore of the setting, it's easy to figure out that you can just yank the battery, and the chopper's going nowhere. For instance, the helicopter used is an old battery powered one, like you'd see in human revolution.

Even simple objectives as 'get past the fake checkpoint' or 'stop the helicopter' have atypical solutions. If you do this, there will be a whole lot less people at HQ (because they're dead, duh), and the memorial monument gets filled by a whole bunch of names. Early on, as early as the tutorial, masked as a basic 'kill the bad guys'-mission, there's nothing stopping you from murdering your allies to claim their weapons. Not only are there consequences, but choices. Unlike in the past deus ex games, choices have a lot of consequences, and not doing something 'properly' can, and will, lock you out from future progression with that particular quest. Helmeted enemies will be the bane of your existence if you're used to mainstream shooters. Due to the nature of human frailty, and the danger that augs pose, police, mercenaries, and security forces wear armor, which provides varying degrees of protection. Adam's above average durability (he's an aug) allows him to wether 6 combat rifle bullets on GMDX difficulty, while ordinary humans can only survive 4 to the chest, 5 to the limbs, 3 to the stomach and groin, and 1 to the head will put them down. There's very little handholding in this regard.Īdam, like Sam Fisher, has a wonderful arsenal of tools, acrobatics, and terror tricks he can pull on the enemies, but like Sam, he dies very quickly. So instead of being told to go kill X fire ants, then prompted with a marker, you'll be told to investigate a potential hacker at 33 Hlavní, apartment 302. Navigation is done by arcane things like actual map street posts in the game, Adam's Sarif OS overview map of Prague, and street numbers, addresses. On all but the easiest difficulty, quest markers are off by default. The game goes against everything Bethesda and more mainstream titles may have taught you. Not quite standard, even this far into 2017. For instance, in order to play with ultra textures, you need 6+ gigs of VRAM. Unless you have a beast machine, or know what you're doing, you're not gonna be maxing out anything.

Note that this is my recommendation, which is quite a lot more relevant than what the steam system requirement claims. Due to some actual optimization, you can play it just fine on old hardware (to a point), but the minimum GPU requirement for a functional, fluid experience is a GTX 970, and you'll be playing on medium settings. It's the crysis title we never got in 2016, and still outshines games released in november 2017. Mankind divided is a very demanding game.
